Birth Chart
A reading of the birth chart looking at personal development and actual tendencies.
Your birth chart is a drawing of the sky at the exact moment of your birth. While preparing the horoscope I look at, among other things, the positions of the sun, the moon and the planets as well as the black moon, moon nodes, transits and secondary progressions.
After a thorough examination of all these factors, including the planets in the houses and their aspects, an image arises of your character and of the conditions your personality requires to develop and blossom fully.
For instance the position of the sun in house and sign shows how you endeavour to realise your identity and which themes or areas in life are important to you. The moon symbolises your emotional condition, how you process your experiences, how you respond to the circumstances of your life and what you need to feel at ease.
The Ascendant symbolises how you view the world around you and how others see you. Thus every planet denotes a different drive or energy and every house tells about that area in your life in which this predisposition comes to life most naturally.
So far so good for anyone using astrology books or computer programs in getting an idea about themselves. But for an astrologer the real work begins here.
After the analysis follows the synthesis. It only becomes truly interesting when all the different factors are weighed against each other. The various layers of the horoscope have to be sifted through, the essentials laid bare and the correct emphasis made. The forest must be rediscovered through the trees.
Astrology is a framework, a tool. The horoscope an instrument for getting to know yourself better, to see how you can most naturally flow with or yield to the streams of life that align with your personality. You recognise yourself, as if you're saying: "yes, this is my boat and this is how it sails". We all sometimes have the idea that we're just floating about in the mist.
It also becomes clear where and why you encounter obstacles, be it by (often unconscious) inner contradictions or by circumstances you (mostly unconscious as well) attract. Resistance is often experienced or labelled negatively, but a horoscope reading can show you that it is in fact quite functional. It can stimulate you to awaken and develop dormant qualities.
A horoscope reading refreshes you and the most beautiful effect is that you can (again) feel happy with yourself and your unique character!
